I've been struggling with something that usually comes to me with near effortless ease.
For the past couple years, since I have been conscious of it, I have been able to manifest nearly everything that I want and need, and with incredible speed.
When I look back on my life over this time, I am really blown away by all that I have accomplished in less than 2 years.
In year 1, I:
- with no money, means, or resources, ended an abusive marriage
- moved myself and two young children to a safe, affordable home
- got myself an excellent teaching job at the top school in the area, which enabled me to send my children there with me (due to the tuition discount for full time teachers).
- strengthened my heart, mind, and connection to Spirit to take the necessary steps to protect myself from my abuser and to go forward with getting myself a divorce, not merely a separation that would have kept me in chains, as he had hoped.
In year 2, I:
- Won full custody of our daughter.
- managed to get myself an offer for a new job in a city that I have long dreamed of living in.
- moved myself and two children out of state, to the mountains outside said city, practically over night, in the middle of the night, and with my own two hands (and a borrowed truck), without enough money in gas to get there.
- settled us in, and we began school and work within two weeks of arriving in the mountains.
- manifested a new car
- shortly thereafter, I quit my teaching job and devoted myself to working for Spirit full time. I expanded my business, and began working from home for a psychic advisor hotline.
- manifested a beautiful loving relationship with the man of my dreams, a year before Spirit said we would meet.
Most of this all happened less than one year ago today. It's amazing and remarkable to me, and I feel very proud of myself for following my heart and Spirit unquestionably in order to have done so.
Great, so what's the problem?
Well, more recently a lot of relationships that are connected to my living space have changed. The energy on the mountain where we live has taken a lot of getting used to. And although it has been excellent for communicating with Spirit, with accelerating my career, and providing an epic environment for my children, it is very difficult for me to live there. To be free to be myself without neighbors and the like literally barging in on me (ironic because we live so remotely in the wilderness).
So, after conferring with my guides, my next step became clear: move once again, to a higher elevation still, to the place where I want to make my forever home, to the place where I will be able to purchase land. I knew where the spot was right away.
Shortly after moving to where we are now, we took a drive to the south, but actually much higher (1k feet) elevation. As soon as i saw the jaw-dropping views and watched my own spirit run off to light on the hills, I knew. Damn. i thought. I moved to the wrong spot up here, this is where I am meant to be. This is where I will buy my land someday. At this point however, I still worked in the city, and thought buying land and moving might be some 5 odd years off.
OK, so plan from Spirit in hand, I went off to find our next home. Expecting to find it right away. Thinking, OK. I should have the keys and be moving in within three weeks. Ready, set, go!
Not finding it.
Not finding anything, actually.
Finally finding one place that is ok, but the process to get in so tedious and slow that I wondered if it was the right place for me.
Two weeks of searching and nothing. It's rural Colorado, there isn't much to begin with, but surely there was something for me, Spirit said so (and has never let me down). I could see the house, I know there is something for us there, but where?? And I've exhausted all search efforts, how the hell do I find it?!?? I am feeling stressed, because I want to be settled in before the start of the new school year.
So, now, in absolute stress mode, and trying hard not to freak out and cry, I reached out and vented to my bestie since college, Amanda. She gave me a good pep talk, walked me through all of the logistics, and what a reasonable time frame for finding a place up here might be, and finally she gave me the advice to ask my guides for some insight on 'manifesting up there.' It might be different, she suggested. Hmm I'd never thought of that. I've always speed-manifested everything by the usual means of visualizing, feeling the energy, and then finding the thing. Pretty simple, straightforward process. I'd never considered that manifesting on a mountain would be any different than manifesting in a city or other location.
So, I said, "ok, I'm going to go take a hike up to the top right now and see what Spirit says, I'll let you know what I find."
Fittingly, as I was gearing up to go, I took one more scan through social media, and a post from Amanda's twin sister, Sarah, from the day before popped up. It absolutely blew me away and cut to the heart of my matter (here is the link to this powerful post). Sarah spoke of how sometimes when we feel anxious while trying to manifest something, it isn't that we are out of alignment or way off in going for what we want, it is that we feel the new energy (or the energy of the new thing we desire), sometimes (usually), before we actually have it. Read Sarah's post for the full break-down, but the basic idea is that while all things are energy, they begin as thought, or as a higher form of energy, before becoming more dense and actualized in the material world. So, I was freaking out and stressing because I could feel and see the new home, but I couldn't touch it yet, or even see it with my physical eyes. This was so helpful to me, and I ventured out on my hike with a new assurance and optimism, after all I am definitely feeling the energy, so it must be on the way. Perhaps I was being too impatient.
Alright, so off I went to hike up to my favorite peak on the mountain. One of my spirit guides likes to meet me up there to discuss things, because of the beautiful vantage point and perspective that is gained. 360 degrees of scenic mountain views. To the west, and iconic view of the continental divide, to the east, down below, is the Boulder Valley. Breathtaking to say the least, homing to me like my mothers womb.
So, I sat down and asked this strong, male guide of mine what was up. What am I getting wrong or not doing right. What's the low-down on manifesting this thing, and why isn't it working as well as other goals in the past?
This is what he said to me:
First of all, Nicole, look at how far you have come. Look at where you are sitting. Look at how high you are. Think back to where you were a year ago. You were in a small chicken coup of an apartment in the low valley in Lincoln, Nebraska. Look! Look at where you are now! Look at how very far you have come. You did it. You brought yourself here. You strove to create an incredible life for yourself and your children, and you have been and continue to do just that.
Me: (Looking all around me and letting it sink in) Wow, yeah, ok, you are right. Actually it is rather astonishing to me how far i have come, and on little more than my faith. Ok, ok, yes I see, I have accomplished a ton, I can achieve great things. I can achieve this thing too, but how? why is the new place so elusive?
Nicole, how is a mountain formed?
Me: looking around, "well, tectonic shifts, and thousands of years."
But how does it start?
Me: (thinking and shrugging) it's a long, slow process, I guess.
(and this is what really cut me to the quick)
It starts with a pebble and a push.
This got me so good, I had to roll it over and over again. Yes! It does! And that is how we manifest things, just like Sarah described in her post. It takes a pebble (thought, vision, idea), and a push (your will to bring the thought, vision, or idea) to bring it to fruition.
He showed me this concept in different ways. He had me hold one hand up high above my head, and the other hand out in front of my solar plexus, palms facing each other. Your upper hand is the pebble, your lower hand is the push. The upper hand is what you want to manifest, your lower hand represents your link to the physical world; your will. One must exert one's will in order to bring down and make manifest a pebble - or seed - or thought - vision - or idea.
Ok, Ok, I'm getting it...
The struggle that you are facing lies in the fact that each geographical space holds different energy. So, in order to manifest a thing, you have to align your energy to the physical space where you are. If your will is not aligned, not connected to where you stand, you will not effectively manifest anything, because there is no ground in which to plant it.
You have your pebble or seed thought idea of what you want, then you have your physical connection to the earth, your will, but then as you bring your idea down to your will, you then need some ground to plant it in. If the soil isn't right, the seed won't grow, right? If the soil is too acidic or too alkaline, or there isn't enough of a particular nutrient, the specific seed you have in mind might not grow. So, you need your will to be connected to the actual, physical earth where you are, in order to plant your seed and see it spout the results you are after.
Alright, so I need to align my energy to the energy of the house here, even though I am trying to bring in new house energy?
Not to the house, but to the land.
To this mountain here.
You need to align your energy to the energy of the mountain.
For the last year you have been manifesting very very quickly, you have.
You have been running on city energy though. This is why things have come so fast, because your energy has been fast. That worked fine while you were moving, and working in the city. But now you completely live and reside in the mountains.
The energy of the mountains is S L O W E R
You must align your energy to the energy of the mountain.
You must slow down.
As soon as you slow down, the place will manifest.
I do. OK. Thank You. This all makes perfect sense! Wow! I have been running nonstop on super fast city energy for gosh, at least a year. Yes. I am tired of rushing like that. OK...
Then, he went on to illustrate further examples.
The wildflowers are in full bloom all over the mountain. From where we stood, he asked me to carefully walk straight to a little buttercup flower in front of me.
In order to get close to it, i had to tippy-toe, and side step, and curve around numerous other little plants. I could have walked straight to it in two steps, but I would have crushed other plants in doing so, so I stepped very thoughtfully around them.
When I arrived he said, "see? the quickest path is not always the best path."
He continued with metaphors to running:
Does the person who springs out of the blocks the fastest always arrive first at the finish line?
Well, no... the rabbit and the hare....
Exactly. It takes strategy, mindful use of endurance, the lay of the track, knowledge of your competition, and an eye planted firmly on the finish line.
Okay. I get it. i need to pull back the rush, the stress of the situation. Allow myself to slow down and align this energy with that of the mountain, knowing that it will come in right time, and likewise not giving in, giving up, or losing faith that I will arrive at the finsih line (new home). Thank you. Ok. I'm going to hurry up and try to slow down ;)
Leaving my space up on top of the mountain, with my spirit guide (I like to keep his name private), I took a nice long hike home. I spent the day barefoot outside with the intent to bring my energy down from my upper chakras, down, down through my entire body, and out through the soles of meet, into the earth. Intentionally calling down all of my thought energy to manifest through my body and the body of the earth, born into material form.
Spirit came through recently with a message for one of my clients who was having financial difficulties, and she was guided to spend time grounding her energy, lest it continue to slip through her hands. She was a gambler, and quite good, but couldn't hold on to money. Spirit showed her that she needed to spend equal time with grounding activities, as she spent at the casino. 2hrs at the table = 2hr hike.
It is quite true, and just as interesting, how to we have to physically work with our energy to bring a non material idea into physical reality.
So, taking all of these wonderful messages from Spirit to heart, I consciously have been grounding my energy. Taking lots of hikes, making thoughtful steps, and being barefoot as much as possible. Slowing down and allowing my energy to flow from my brain to my feet, and down into the earth, so the seed can grow and bear real fruit.
This was two days ago. I loosened my death grip on the new place coming right now! and did my best to settle into the knowing that it will come, and faster the more I can relax and take my demands off of it.
And guess what?
Later that very same day, my friend contacted me to let me know that a friend of theirs knows of a house coming available soon. PROGRESS! And then, yesterday, I heard back about a place I applied for. They think I got it, and they'll get back to me with a definite answer on Monday.
OK sure, yeah i can be cool and wait til Monday, no problem ;)
So, long story short, there is a lot more to manifesting than I know. Specific points to remember are that once you know what you want, hold the vision, and put it out there, you really do need to trust that it will come.
Stressing about when and how it will come is NOT trusting
Instead of stressing, things that can help bring it about faster are:
- staying positive
- orienting your energy to your physical region, by grounding your energy
- and trusting that when you feel the anxious energy, that it isn't time to loose it, but time to celebrate, because it is coming, and your feeling it is your sign that it is near.
- Stand firm and in place on top of the flower bed where you wish to plant your seed, so that when it does arrive in your hand, you can plant it straight away.
Biggest take away for me from all of this, is that BIG things start small (the pebble), and take a continuous effort (the push). And that most importantly, your idea needs ground to grow. You must ground your energy where you are. Where ever you are. Root down and stand firm where you are, so that you can bring down and plant those seeds, baby. And that your strong, stable, rich ground can support that plant through fruit bearing and beyond.
Favorite popular saying that my love likes to use with me regarding this situation is, Rome wasn't built in a day
This is so true, and yet hard for us major manifestors to really absorb, as we are used to having what we want Right Now, if not yesterday. Yet, it is amazing that when we let go just a bit, what we desire can literally fall gracefully into our laps.
I hope that you may gain a little insight and or find a tidbit of info that can help you on your own path of manifesting the incredible life that you desire and deserve.
Do you have insights of your own on how to more effectively manifest? Or perhaps you found a gem in my message from my spirit guide that didn't sink in all they way with me? If so, please share your input in the comments!
